Michele Cunningham

Michele Cunningham has been passionate about the healing arts since her first introduction to massage and Reiki in Sedona, Arizona in 1996. Wishing to share the benefits of health and well-being that massage offers, in 1998 she made the decision to become a massage therapist.

Michele graduated from The Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY and has been a licensed massage therapist since March, 2000. It was here where one of Michele's teachers introduced her to CranioSacral Therapy. She was hooked. Michele's areas of expertise are CranioSacral Therapy and Reiki. She has studied CranioSacral Therapy since 2000, and has continued education through the Upledger Institute where she has advanced training and is also a Teachers Assistant. Michele is a Reiki Master/Teacher trained in the Usui Reiki Ryoho Tradition. She is also trained in Myofascial Therapy, Ashiatsu Bar Therapy, Tian Di Bamboo Massage with cupping, and Raindrop Technique, as well as Integrative Reflexology under Claire Marie Miller.

Michele offers ergonomic instruction for offices, and teaches couples massage classes to help couples learn to support each other through healing touch. Please call to inquire about classes.

Michele has experience working with individuals with many needs, including but not limited to chronic fatigue, chronic neck and back pain, children with various needs such as ADD and Autism, Digestive disorders such as Gastroparesis and acid reflux, support for emotional issues associated with abuse, Fibromyalgia, migraines, post traumatic stress, repetitive motion injuries, stress and tension related issues, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and Temporomandibular (TMJ) dysfunction.

Michele went on to pursue her degree in psychology from SUNY Geneseo to enhance her skills with the sometimes-emotional nature of CranioSacral work. She graduated in 2010 and aspires to begin working on her Masters in counseling. Her goal being to conjoin CranioSacral Therapy with talk therapy. Michele's work is much more than "just another massage".
