About the Therapists

Dave Gucker

Dave Gucker, BA, LMT

Dave earned his license for massage therapy in October of 2003. From 2004 until August 2012 Dave worked with Muscle Maintenance where he developed his passion for therapeutic and medical applications of massage. Dave specializes in sports massage and has been helping his clients recover from and prevent injuries, perform at higher levels in their athletic careers, and eliminate daily aches and pains.

Dave's sessions involve more than just giving his clients a massage. In the process of identifying and treating whatever brought them in, he draws on his knowledge as an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer to educate his clients about potential postural and ergonomic stresses unique to their sport and recommends stretching and/or exercise regiments that are appropriate to healing and preventing future injuries.

September 1, 2012 Dave joined Healing Haven Massage and Wellness. He looks forward to this new chapter in his career where he can bring his skills and energy, and continue to grow and help his clients improve their lives.

In addition to being a licensed massage therapist with an expertise in Sports Massage, Dave has extensive experience as an athlete and understands the athlete from a personal perspective as well as from a professional massage therapists perspective. Dave has recently begun using his Hot Stone massage techniques in his Sports massage sessions and both he and his clients are seeing amazing results!

His sports training and experience is listed below:

Martial Arts:
Dave has been training in the art of Isshin Ryu Karate and Kobu-do since 1990, and has helped teach the style since 1994. In 1995, Dave earned his first degree black belt. Endurance Races:
In 2011, Dave stumbled across a new brand of race that struck his curiosity; the Warrior Dash a 5K "trial run"/obstacle course on the side of a ski mountain. He was hooked. His bucket list now includes more events along these lines: Warrior Dash, Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, RunforyourLives, Renegade Playground Challenge, Civilian Military Challenge, and many more!
