RIP May 27, 2023

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend and colleague Teale Dominas. Teale passed suddenly and unexpectedly on May 27, 2023.

Teale blessed everyone she touched. Those who knew her were instantly captured by her spirit. She was a joyous, caring, and compassionate soul. Her sense of humor was infectious. We are all deeply affected by her loss.

We love you, Teale. Rest in eternal peace.

Teale has always been drawn to helping and healing. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2003, when she earned simultaneous degrees—an A.A.S. in Massage Therapy and an A.A. in honors studies, from MCC. Teale has dedicated her life to helping others; facilitating optimal health through massage therapy, and as a home health-care provider. Teale has been with the same agency since 1996, which is now under the umbrella of Rochester Regional Health. Prior to massage therapy and home care, Teale worked for almost a decade with adults with developmental disabilities. Her bodywork style is supported by continued education in massage therapy modalities and her extensive experience in medically-framed environments.

As a survivor of endometrial and ovarian cancers, and a person living with CML, she firmly believes that one of the most important aspects of protecting your health is listening to your body and massage therapy can help develop that skill. Teale encourages self advocacy in a healthcare team.

Teale’s energy embodies an Earth Mother—nurturing, giving, and healing. She is a deep and spiritual listener who believes all should be gifted with joyful and meaningful moments. Her goal is for all to have the opportunity and support to thrive and bloom, and transition where they can.

Outside of her profession, Teale loves to grow tomatoes and berries, cooks and bakes to feed and nurture family and friends, reads avidly, and loves animals. She is often barefoot.

Working with Teale:
Accepts cash, check, Venmo and credit cards ($3 charge for credit card processing).

  • Offering calm on a physical and emotional/spiritual level is what I love to do. We invite people into a space of healing and provide a quiet respite from the busy-ness of everything going on in their lives. To be trusted to lay my hands on someone's person is a high honor. Through slow bodywork techniques I am able to soothe the firing messages of pain and discomfort, and ease some of the stress and mental burden that my client carries. I love that our practice offers peace of mind and body to all who come to us.

  • Food! I love food. Making food, serving food, eating food, going out to try new food. I read cookbooks cover to cover, and I love watching cooking competition tv, and speculate, and sometimes even make, what I think would have beat the winning dish. I like to create recipes and feed the people I love. There is no particular specialty- baking sweets, comfort foods, ethnic dishes, and fancy-schmancy entrees and desserts, I enjoy making them all.

  • Singing along with the radio or smartspeaker. Pedicures and pretty toenails. Picking vegetables from my garden. A new book. Furbabies of any kind. Being with people who love me and accept me for who I am.

Three questions to get to know your therapist:

The healing hands of Teale at the Lamberton Conservatory, Rochester New York.

“I have known Teale for over 20 years… She distinguishes herself over many of her peers through three distinct qualities. These include; her level of professionalism and attention to details; her consistency to keep her skills up to date with current training and professional development; and the level of trust she provides to her customers. I have recommended Teale to many family and friends over the years… I consider Teale’s expertise as part of my on-going healthy lifestyle.”
